Fix the Driving Line-Up Before You Fix the Vehicle

Whoever holds a licence decides everything downstream. If only one person in your household drives a larger vehicle, that constraint narrows the fleet before you have read a single description. Agree the drivers first, note licence categories, and only then compare trucks. You may find a smaller vehicle with two willing drivers beats one big truck nobody can legally move.

Time the Hire Honestly, Allowing for Both Handovers

Collections take longer than people expect, and returns take longer still. A family heading to the airport with luggage and three passengers cannot treat the pickup as a five-minute stop. Book the collection slot with a cushion before your real deadline, and leave equal room at the end. Honest timing protects the journey either side of the hire itself.

Picture, say, a student moving out of shared housing with boxes and a mattress topper. The load tells you the size; the fleet list merely offers options. Work from the pile upwards and the choice makes itself.

Get Charges, Cover and Documents Into the First Exchange

Raise the money questions in your opening message rather than the final one. Ask what the daily rate includes, how any damage cover works, and which paperwork each driver must bring. Whether a particular truck is free on your chosen dates may not be known straight away, but the terms can be. Early answers prevent a late scramble.
