Sort the Licence and Be Frank About Who Is Driving

Points, endorsements or a recent test pass can affect what is offered. Honesty here prevents problems on collection day.

Measure the Load Instead of Estimating It

Guess the size of your load and you risk a wasted trip. Measure the longest item, the tallest and the widest. A sofa destined for a tight doorway needs both internal van length and load height. Write the figures down and compare them against vans on offer. Choosing from real numbers beats standing in a yard, tape measure in hand.

Set the Hire Window Around the Entire Day

Think beyond the drive itself. Awkward access means extra minutes finding parking, carrying items up paths and maybe a second run. Allow time for collection, loading and queuing at returns. A customer heading out at dawn for a delivery might still want the van until evening. Book the hours your day genuinely needs, not the bare minimum.
