Build the Load Brief Before You Write a Word

Start with what you actually need to move. A family clearing a three-bedroom house faces a different job from a flat swap. Count the bulky pieces first. Sofa, beds, washing machine. Note loose boxes roughly. One figure for volume, one for weight, plus any awkward stair access. That brief shapes everything else, including whether a luton or a smaller box truck fits the day.

Count the Day as It Will Actually Run

Sketch the day before you enquire. Loading at the old house, driving across, unloading at the new one. Then the return trip with an empty truck. Add lunch, a delay at the storage unit, a second run nobody planned. Ask yourself whether one day covers it. If not, say so up front and ask about weekend or multi-day rates when you contact the firm.

Have the Driver Details Ready in Advance
